Betty L. Veach, 73, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012, at the Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson, Illinois.
Betty was born near Willow Hill, in Jasper County, Illinois, on August 8, 1939, she was the daughter of E. Carl Kirk and Mabel (Semple) Kirk. On December 28, 1958, she married Harold Leon Veach, who preceded her in death on November 26, 1997.
Betty was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of Oblong High School ~ Class of 1957. She was a member of the Oblong First Christian Church; Henpeck C. B. Club, Cold Foot Campers and Hikers Association; for many years Betty was in charge of the funeral dinners; she taught Sunday School and helped with the Smart Choice Food Program formerly called Angel Food Ministries at Oblong First Christian Church, Oblong, Illinois.
Betty is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl & Sandra Veach and David & Jeannie Veach; three grandchildren, Jared & Ashley Veach, Tiffany Veach and Casandra Veach. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
